Chinese Dietary Class

As we start the Chinese Year of the Boar, we take this opportunity to think about how our food nourishes us.  In the traditions of Chinese medicine, foods have qualities and properties that can promote health. At the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ICAOM), Dr. Wai Low teaches students how to put together herbs and ingredients into dishes that are healthy and delicious. For the first time, he is opening his doors and welcoming Slow Food O`ahu into his classroom so that his message of health and good food can spread to the masses.

On the menu: Black Chicken Soup, Stir-fried Shrimp with Gingkoes, Winter Melon with Dry Scallops & Chinese Parsley, Lamb with Leeks

Be prepared to do a little cooking! Designed to be an interactive session, small groups will prepare recipes with Dr. Low’s direction.  This will be nutritious, social and educational for everyone! Please bring your own wares whenever possible to reduce impact on the environment. Thank you!
