Poke Workshop + talk story lunch with author Martha Cheng

Freelance writer and Honolulu Magazine’s dining editor Martha Cheng will lead participants through the fundamentals of the popular Hawai‘i classic, poke. Working out of her recent book, The Poke Cookbook: The Freshest Way to Eat Fish, she will discuss poke’s traditions and history as well as its recent rise in popularity around the world. The workshop will focus on the foundations of developing poke recipes and how to explore delicious variations out of these classic flavors. Participants will prepare both classic poke and try their hand at a modern twist.

The workshop will culminate with a poke tasting and talk story and each participant will receive a copy of Martha’s book as part of the ticket cost.
